.part two. [[the background//] The year is 2059.
It’s been half a century since the time of the Pokémon world you are familiar with. A lot has changed. Then again, much has remained the same. Pokémon trainers still exist, though since the open wilderness is now a rare sight and hovering vehicles replace the need to travel by foot, they work with Pokémon ways that don’t involve journeys or adventures. Pokémon are trained within the limits of vast cities, battled in towers, tutored by simulators. Some of them are even “enhanced” with technology, given mechanical parts and implants to improve their battling abilities. Most Pokémon are no longer captured from the steadily-shrinking “wild”; rather they are bred and bought by those who want them.
The “Teams” of the past are long gone. Over four decades have passed since they were last seen causing trouble. Team Galactic is now a harmless organization that devotes itself to developing space exploration technology. They’re responsible for the settlements that were placed on the moon about six years ago. Their criminal background is entirely forgotten to most. Team Aqua and Team Magma no longer exist at all, though occasionally a small group of fanatics will claim that their abandoned ideas are more important than ever now that the natural environment is fading away. Cipher of Orre was disbanded long ago, though some of their research and technologies have been put to good use.
… And then we have Team Rocket.

.part three. [[the plot//]] Here’s how the end began.
Around two years ago, a pair of criminals from Johto began researching Team Rocket. The organization fell apart after its second attempt to rise, but in their short-lived time of terror they achieved a number of starling feats. They managed to gain control of Silph Co. and Goldenrod’s Radio Tower. They managed to create a super-clone of one of the most elusive and powerful Pokémon in existence (this clone had now been safely secured and kept unconscious by Kanto’s government for twenty-seven years). They nearly managed to make not just one, but two regions surrender to them entirely.
Now, that was fifty years before today’s technology had been invented. There was so much more potential now for such an organization. They could go beyond stealing Pokémon and building doomsday devices. Now, they could use Pokémon to cause more terror than ever. Nobody even considered Pokémon could be used for serious crime these days. They were simply used for sport, for battling, for entertainment purposes. Now, if you were to destroy a Silph office with a Charizard, no one would know how to react.
Seizing the opportunity to start something grand, the pair steadily began getting a group together. They set up their own system, resorting to only minor offenses while they grew in secrecy. Maybe a Pokémon would be stolen here or there; a government computer system or two would “accidentally” go down. But generally they were silent and caused no harm. Team Rocket was going to return. They were going to do it slowly; take plenty of time to assemble themselves. They would have to strike fast, but when they did so it would have to be overwhelming. World domination would have to be earned as quickly as possible, before the world knew how to react.
Then, it happened. Team Rocket burst from the shadows of society, and in a sudden swoop they overtook Kanto’s forces stationed at the Seafoam Islands. They quickly retrieved what they had created so many years ago: Mewtwo.
It had begun.

.part four. [[the story//]] You are a member of the new Team Rocket, currently living in Johto.
Maybe you’re a rebellious teenager who decided to screw the rules and pursue the life of a criminal. Maybe you’re a power-hungry freak who wants to take over the world. Maybe you’re just a sociopath. Whatever your reasons, you’ve decided to become a member of the organization that plans on having control over everything within the next year or two. Of course, it won’t be an easy process, and your superiors expect your absolute loyalty.
Your life as a Rocket will require plenty of devotion. You’ll be given dangerous missions, asked to team up with other members who are just as deranged as you are, and ordered to cause as much chaos as possible. Society will grow to despise you for your actions. Your Pokémon must decide whether to accept your choice to serve a criminal organization. And ultimately, your life will really never be the same.
So. Are you ready to sell your soul to the Dark Side?
